Supporting sustainability in the African cotton & textiles sector
The Cotton Expert House Africa is a private sector-driven, non-profit organisation that seeks to support sustainability in the African cotton sector and the textile industry. We see ourselves as a platform for all industry stakeholders to facilitate exchange, share knowledge and learning experiences, and request technical support and practical solutions.
At the Cotton Expert House Africa, we combine strong in-house expertise and up-to-date market information with a large professional network of sector and regional experts. With this, we are able to respond to individual requests for support such as education, training and piloting of innovations.
We are standard neutral and actively engage with the private sector and sustainability standards for cotton like Cotton made in Africa (CmiA), Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), Organic (GOTS, EU Bio, OSC100) and Fairtrade.
We aim to be active in more than fifteen countries all over Africa, where cotton production and value addition play an important role. Some of the countries were already focus countries of the Competitive African Cotton Initiative (COMPACI) (green), some new countries will join (orange).
